Martin Law Office is excited to announce the recipient of the 2023 Martin Law Office Spring Scholarship!
We want to thank all who applied for the scholarship, for taking the time to apply as well as all their service to their communities.
Meet our 2023 Martin Law Office Spring Scholarship recipient, Abby Henkel! Here is a little background information about Abby written by her:
“I will be graduating in June from Franklin High School and plan to attend St. Norbert College this fall. I plan to study Psychology with a minor in Human Resources. My goal is to become a School Psychologist so I can help children with their mental health, peer, home, or school struggles, or anything else troubling them. My main goal is to impact youth who are experiencing hard times.
Since I was little, I have spent time giving back to the community by volunteering at veterans’ homes, homeless shelters, food banks, and more. This year I have been able to raise funds for Wreaths Across America as well as volunteer at The Wall That Heals traveling Vietnam Veterans memorial. Volunteering has helped shape my plans for the future because I found out that I love to listen to others and help them with their problems or just be someone for them to talk to and open up to. Psychology will help me continue my goal to make a difference in someone’s life as well as fulfill my curiosity to learn more about many different people.
I have participated in Choir all four years of high school through the Franklin Energizers show choir, the acapella choir Harmonium, and the Voce Eterna concert choir. I have been a member of the National Honor Society since my Sophomore year. Through NHS, I have been a peer mentor to multiple students of all grades in English. I played Tennis for 3 years and am also a member of the ECO club (Environmental Conservation and Outdoor Club), which is a club that focuses on environmental education, recreation, and community service projects.
I am looking forward to college in the fall and the new experiences it will bring.”
Thank you,
Abby Henkel
