What Should You Keep in the Car?

Let’s be prepared! Plan your long trips carefully and get up-to-date weather forecasts and road conditions. Every vehicle should have an emergency supply kit located in the trunk.  Here are a few suggestions.

  • A properly inflated spare tire, wheel wrench and tripod jack
  • Jumper cables
  • Tool kit
  • Flashlight
  • Reflective triangles
  • First aid kit
  • Nonperishable, high-energy foods, such as unsalted nuts, dried fruits, and hard candy
  • Drinking water
  • Car charger for your cell phone
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Cold weather items, a snow brush, shovel, warm clothing, and cat litter for traction
