Driving can be a hazardous activity, especially if the driver is not adhering to safe driving practices. Car accidents can have serious consequences, such as property damage, injuries, and even fatalities. Because of the serious consequences that can result from a car accident, it is important that drivers practice safe driving every time that they get behind the wheel. When drivers do not practice safe driving, it can increase the risk of being involved in an automobile accident. Recently, an accident occurred in Racine, Wisconsin involving a parked vehicle.
The accident happened during the early morning hours of October 19, 2020. The accident occurred near Water Street and Park Avenue. Law enforcement officials received reports that a vehicle had struck a parked car and responded to the scene around 12:15 am. When the law enforcement officials responded to the scene they found a vehicle that had sustained substantial damage in the collision. The driver of the vehicle was still inside. The fire department was able to extract the driver from the vehicle, and the driver was subsequently transported to a hospital to receive treatment for the injuries sustained in the collision. Tragically, the driver passed away at the hospital as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident.
Safe driving is of the utmost importance. Drivers can help keep the roadways safer for themselves and others by ensuring that they always practice safe driving. Some safe driving practices include avoiding distracted, adhering to the speed limit and traveling at a speed that is safe for weather conditions, and wearing a seatbelt. By practicing safe driving, drivers will be better able to pay full attention to the roadways, therefore increasing the amount of time they have to react to potential hazards in the roadways.
