The summer has arrived in Wisconsin. Many Wisconsinites like to take advantage of the warm weather by engaging in outdoor activities. During the summer months, there is typically an increase of pedestrians on or near the roadways. Because of the higher amounts of pedestrians, drivers need to ensure that they are practicing safe driving to help keep themselves and any pedestrians safe. Recently, an alarming accident occurred in Milwaukee involving a 7 year old pedestrian.
The accident happened on Sunday, August 2, 2020. It occurred near 41st Street and Fond du Lac Avenue around 8:00 pm. The 7 year old child was going for a walk when she was struck by the vehicle. The child had just stepped off the curb when the vehicle collided with her. The force of the collision caused the child to be knocked off her feet. Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle . fled the scene of the accident. Law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate the accident and attempting to locate both vehicle and driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. The child suffered several injuries in the collision, including a concussion, cuts, and a sprained arm. Thankfully, the child is recovering from the injuries that were sustained in the accident.
