What Item Has Been Recalled?
We expect the products we buy and consume to be safe for our use and consumption. Unfortunately that is not always the case, and sometimes the products pose a potential hazard to our health or safety. When this happens, it is common for the company that produces or manufactures the product to issue a recall for the product to help ensure that consumers of the protect are kept safe. Recently, the popular water bottle brand, Contigo, has issued a recall for some of their water bottles.
Contigo has issued a recall for some of their water bottles because they pose a choking threat. The water bottles included in the recall are the Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles. The bottles have a clear silicone spout that is used to drink out of the bottles. It is possible for the silicone spout to detach from the bottles, which can cause the bottle to because a potential choking hazard.
In total, around 5.7 million water bottles are included in the recall. The water bottles were sold nation at stores including Walmart, Target and Costco. The bottles came in various sizes including a 13 ounce size, a 14 ounce size and 20 ounce size. The bottles came in a wide variety of colors and graphics. As of now the company has received 149 reports of the spout detaching from the bottle. In 18 of the cases reported, the spout was found in the child’s mouth.
