An extremely sad story came out of Alabama this week. On Tuesday, March 21st a mother and a daughter were both involved in motor vehicle accidents on the same highway. Tragically, both died from injuries sustained in the car accidents.
Around 3:00 pm, the mother was driving her vehicle down the highway, when her vehicle collided head-on with a truck that was traveling in the opposite direction. Law enforcement officials arrived on the scene, and the occupants of the truck were transported to the hospital where they received care for the injuries they sustained in the accident.
Shortly after the mother’s car accident, the woman’s daugther was also involved in an accident. The 8-year-old girl had just gotten off her school bus a few minutes prior and was walking alongside the highway, when she was struck by a car. The girl died at the scene of the collision. Law enforcement officials are unsure as to how the girl ended up walking on the side of the highway.
Both motor vehicle accidents remain under investigation as law enforcement officials try to ascertain the causes and contributing factors of the accidents.
