A recall has been issued for all across the state of Wisconsin for beef jerky from Johnson's Sausage Shoppe, Inc. The recall was issued jointly from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection and Johnson's Sausage, Inc. after the discovery that the beef jerky had not been inspected properly.

During a routine inspection of Johnson's Sauasage, Inc., state inspectors found evidence that of incomplete inspection of the beef jerky. The state inspectors found that three brands of beef jerky did not undergo the necessary inspection for meat products after their production.

Here is a list of the beef jerky included in the recall:

  • North Oak, Hickory Smoked Jerky
  • Twisted Oak Farms, Nitrite Free! Beef Jerky

All of the products have been sold at various recall locations throughout Wisconsin. The beef jerky affected by the recall was sold on or after 01/05/17.
