Stroller Recall

The company, Aria Child has issued a recall on nearly 30,000 strollers. The recall comes after the discovery that the strollers have laceration and fall hazards.

One of the reasons that the stroller has been recalled is that there is a gap in the hinge of the stroller that is used for folding the stroller up. This gap can pinch the person who is operating the stroller's hand. This pinching of the hand could possibly result in cuts or other lacerations. The other problem with the strollers is that they may fold up unexpectedly during use. The sudden folding up of the stroller can result in the child falling out of the stroller.

The recalled strollers are called Qbit. The strollers are black with an accent color. They are recalling the strollers that were produced between March 25, 2015 and March 9, 2016.

Thus far, the company has received five reports of stroller users being pinched by in the gap where the stroller folds. Four of those who reported the pinches needed to receive stitches for the cuts from the pinch. Besides the reports of lacerations, the company has also received 71 reports of the stroller unexpectedly folding up while in use. In 12 of the reported incidents, either the operator of the stroller or the child was injured.

The strollers were sold online and at Babies "R" US across the country. The defective strollers were sold between May 2015 and November 2016. They cost around $180.

If you own one of these strollers, the company urges you to stop using it immediately and contact them for a free replacement.
